Day 3

• Out of 271 catalogued, 155 were sold (57%) with an average price of €11,640.

• Ben Case bought the top lot on day 3 for €85,000 from Michael Hickey’s Sunnyhill Stud. He was a son of King’s Theatre out of the unraced Hernando mare Afdala and is related to 7 times winner Balthazar King. Afdala is also a half-sister to Afarka who is a Listed winner over hurdles and the dam of Afsoun, a dual Gr.2 winner and was 3rd in the Gr.1 Champion Hurdle.

• John O’Byrne bought a son of Presenting for €55,000 from Rathbarry Stud. He is the second foal out of Regal Force who was a placed hurdler and a daughter of Force Seven who was a multiple Listed winning hurdler and chaser.  

• Coolcormack Stud sold another son of King’s Theatre for Robert Murphy for €50,000 to Richard Rohan. He is the third foal out of Darrens Lass, a dual winner, and is a half sister to to the dams of Breedsbreeze who won the Gr.1 Tolworth Hurdle and Mackeys Forge, a Gr.2-placed novice hurdler.

• John O’Byrne bought a Milan colt for €42,000 from Castlekelly Stud and is out of Cailins Honour who is a half sister to Castlekellyleader, a top class novice hurdler and is also related Gr.1 winner Black Jack Ketchum, multiple Gr.1 placed Fota Island and high class hurdler Luska Lad. 

• John O’Byrne also bought a son of Shantou for €37,000 from Ashwood Stud. He is a full-brother to Dylan Ross, the dual bumper winner and recent impressive maiden hurdle winner.

• O’Byrne then spent €36,000 on a Presenting colt from Goldford Stud who is out of Dancingwithbubbles and is dual Listed placed. Her dam Kates Charm who won the the Gr.1 Cleeve Hurdle.

• Rathbarry Stud’s Paul Cashman turned buyer when purchasing a son of Presenting for €35,000 from Nichola Kyle. He is a full-brother to Anothercoppercoast who won the Gr.1 Leopardstown Chase and was dual Gr.1 placed.

• Rathbarry Stud bought another Presenting, this time out of Fairy Dawn, who is a bumber winner and a full-sister to Gr.1 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Kicking King. They paid €27,000 for the filly from Sunnyhill Stud.

• Tommy Wade bought a son of Presenting for €31,000 from Peter Downesowned. His dam bred 2 winners from runners and is a half sister to both Fiveforthree and Celestial Gold.

• Another Presenting was bought by Tommy Wade for €28,000, whose dam is a full-sister to Can’t Buy Time, the Gr.3 chase winner.

• Jimmy Murphy (who bought First Lieutenant as a foal) got another Presenting colt for €30,000 from Claremount Stables. He is the first foal out of an unraced Old Vic half-sister to Weird Al who won the Gr.2 Charlie Hall Chase recently.

• Tom Morgan bought a son of Kayf Tara for €30,000 and he is a half-brother to two winners and is a son of Celtic Native who won 10 times and was placed at Gr.2 and Gr.1 level.

• Aiden Murphy bought the first foal from the top class stayer Yeats for €29,000 and is a half-brother to 3 winners out of a full-sister to Sweetness Herself, who won the Listed Prix Denisy and Unrivalled, who won the American Stakes.
