Day 4
- Out of 274 catalogued, 179 were sold (65%) with an average price of €13,947.
- The top lot on day 4 hit the six figure mark for the first time in 3 years for a foal. Ben Case had to fight off a few more interested parties but secured the colt, who is by the top class stayer Yeats for €100,000. He was owned by John O’Dwyer and is a three-parts brother to Rock On Ruby who was runner-up inlast year’s Gr.1 Baring Bingham Novices’ Hurdle, as well as Alpine Glade who has placed at Gr.2 and Gr.3 level over hurdles, and Bluebyyou who was placed in a Gr.2 bumper.
- Aiden Murphy bought another son of Yeats colt from Kenilworth House Stud for €60,000. He is out of Bilboa who won two Gr.2’s and was placed in a Gr.1 Champion Hurdle.
- Goldford Stud sold a son of Presenting to Kevin Ross for €52,000. He is out of the Listed bumper and hurdles winning mare Karello Bay. She is out of a full-sister to Marello, winner of two Gr.2 races.
- Richard Rohan bought a Presenting colt for €45,000 from Hillview Stud. He is a half-brother to two winners out of a King’s Ride full sister to Tullymurry Toff who is a Gr.3 winning hurdler and good chaser.
- John O’Byrne paid €40,000 for a Presenting colt from Galbertstown Stud. He is the first foal out of a Milan half-sister to Dunguib the impressive winner of the 2009 Gr.1 Cheltenham Bumper and won two Gr.1 races over hurdles.
- Padraig Pierce sold a son of Scorpion, the Gr.1 St Leger winner, to John O’Byrne for €36,000. The colt is the first foal out of Liskennett, a Gr.2 winner and Cheltenham Festival runner-up.
- O’Byrne bought a Presenting colt who is a full-brother to Bobs Worth, the Cheltenham Festival and Gr.1 Spa Novices’ Hurdle winner for €44,000 from Thistletown Stud.
- O’Byrne bought another Presenting colt for €40,000 that is out of a half-sister to Geos who won the Gr.3 Tote Gold Trophy twice.
- O’Byrne then spent €38,000 for another son of Scorpion from Ballincurrig House Stud. He is from the same family as the King George and Gold Cup winner Long Run.
- Neil Gilchrist bought a Presenting colt for €42,000 from Rathbarry Stud. He is out of an unraced half-sister to Horner Woods who was runner up in the Gr.1 RSA Chase. He is also related to Somersby who has placed in multiple Gr.1’s over jumps.
- John Nallen bought a Flemensfirth full-brother to Time For Rupert, who finished 2nd in the Gr.1 Ladbrokes World Hurdle to Big Bucks and is an exciting staying chaser, for €33,000 from The Beeches Stud. He is also a half-brother to Mahonia
- Nallen also bought a son of King’s Theatre for €30,000 from Tom Egan. His dam is Pistolet Bleu who is a winning half-sister to My Will, who won two Gr.2 chases for Paul Nicholls.
- Jimmy Murphy bought another Presenting colt foal for €35,000 from Mill House Stud on behalf of John Lightbody. He is the first foal out of Oligarch Society, who was a Listed winner over hurdles.
- JC Bloodstock spent €33,000 on a son of Presenting from Pipers Hall Stud. He is a half-brother to the ill-fated Gr.1 hurdle winner Glencove Marina who also finished second in the Gr.1 Hennessy Gold Cup at Leopardstown.
